How does hypnosis work? The human mind consists of approximately 12% conscious mind and 88% subconscious/ unconscious. Hypnosis uses relaxation techniques and a series of suggestions to get you to become more inwardly focused so the conscious (critical) mind can temporarily be bypassed. When the subconscious mind is accessed, the root cause of unwanted beliefs and behaviors becomes more apparent and positive suggestions for new, more productive changes in thoughts and behavior can be programmed. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis; you are in total control and will never do anything against your will or values.
A good metaphor for the mind is the software on your computer. There is operating software running in the background of your computer you are usually unaware of (subconscious mind) vs. the applications you have on your desktop that you see and interact with (conscious mind). And as with software, some programs may be outdated (e.g. beliefs from childhood) and need to be updated to better fit an adult’s current situation/needs.
Is hypnosis possible through virtual online sessions? Yes – It is possible to use technology (Skype and Zoom) to have virtual remote sessions with Jackie from anywhere in the world! Jackie has been trained in relaxation techniques that work well virtually. As long as you can hear each other and you have a desire to go into hypnosis, you can easily have an effective, powerful hypnotherapy session. You have the option to visit Jackie at her office in Charlotte or attend a session virtually from the comfort of your own home.
What is the difference between a stage hypnotist and hypnotherapist? You may have seen a stage hypnotist perform on TV or at a live performance. Stage hypnosis is for entertainment purposes only. Hypnotherapy has a much deeper purpose. As a hypnotherapist, Jackie uses hypnosis and other holistic techniques to help you understand and modify self-sabotaging beliefs stored in your subconscious mind, thus resulting in changed, more positive behavior in real life.
How much does a hypnotherapy session or package cost? One (1) two-hour session is $160. A package of three (3) two-hour sessions is $444.
How can I make payments for a session or package? Accepted forms of payment are cash and online money transfer applications Venmo, Zelle and PayPal. Payment for a single session is due before or at the time of service. Payment for a package is expected on or before the first session of the series. Ready to get started? Book a consultation!
What is the cancellation policy? You will be sent an appointment reminder 48 hours prior to a scheduled session. Please contact Jackie as soon as possible via phone call or text at (980) 253-2059 to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Sessions missed or cancelled/rescheduled without a 24 hour notice will result in a fee of $140 or forfeiture of one prepaid session.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis? Is there a risk of me losing control during hypnosis?
No – You cannot get stuck in hypnosis; you can come out of hypnosis any time you wish by simply opening your eyes. Nor will you do anything while in hypnosis that goes against your will or values. You are in control!
Is hypnosis like sleep? Although hypnosis may look like sleep, you’re more aware of your senses and surroundings while in hypnosis. You will hear and understand everything Jackie says while in hypnosis. Hypnosis and sleep do access the same brain waves (Alpha and Theta) but it is not beneficial to go into the deep brain waves of sleep (Delta) during a session.
Will I remember repressed traumatic memories? You may remember repressed traumatic memories while in hypnosis; however, you will not see or remember anything that is not necessary for your healing process. In dealing with trauma, abuse or PTSD, it may be necessary to temporarily access the trapped emotional energy of a repressed memory of a traumatic event. Jackie trusts that your Higher Self is aware of what memories are required but will reveal only the information that is relevant to your recovery. Clients have reported remembering parts of a traumatic event during a session, processing the stuck emotional energy associated with the event, then having little or no recollection of the memory after the session.
Who decides what my new programming (suggestions) will be?
You will work with Jackie to develop the suggestions you would like to have stated to you while in hypnosis. It is important you play an active role in developing the suggestions because the words and phrases you desire are the ones that your mind will be most responsive to accepting. All suggestions are custom crafted specifically to you, your situation and desired new beliefs and behaviors.
How many sessions will I need? Typically you will see results within 3 sessions. Some clients experience amazing results after just one session! Everyone is different and issues may have different aspects that need to be addressed in separate sessions. Jackie offers a discounted package of three (3) sessions.
Can I use my insurance to pay for sessions? At this time, most insurance companies do not cover hypnotherapy services but you should check with your insurance provider to see if it a reimbursable expense.
