How Sessions Work
Work with Jackie to restore peace and balance in your life! You are unique so each session is adapted to your individual needs and goals.
Sessions with Jackie are two (2) hours long to ensure that you both have ample time to get to know each other, discuss each other’s backgrounds, understand your needs and goals for the session, and engage in the hypnotherapy session. The end of your session will be spent determining actionable steps to start implementing the knowledge you gained in the session.
What is Hypnotherapy? How can it help me?
Hypnotherapy uses relaxation techniques and a series of suggestions to help you become more inwardly focused so the conscious (critical) mind can temporarily be bypassed. When the subconscious mind is accessed, the root cause of unwanted beliefs and behaviors becomes more evident and positive suggestions for new, more productive changes in thoughts and behaviors are suggested to the subconscious mind. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis; you are in total control and will never do anything against your will or values while in hypnosis.
A good metaphor for the mind is the software on your computer. There is operating software running in the background of your computer you are usually unaware of (subconscious mind) vs. the applications you have on your desktop that you see and interact with (conscious mind). And as with software, some programs may be outdated (e.g. beliefs from childhood, low self-esteem) and need to be updated to better fit an adult’s current situation/needs.
What is Parts Work? How can it help me?
Have you said to yourself ‘there is a part of me that wants X but there seems to be a part of me that conflicts with X?’ For example, there is a part of me that wants to be very successful but there’s a part of me that is scared of what that would be like. A part of your subconscious is holding you back out of fear of the unknown or consequences based on past negative experiences.
There are parts of your subconscious mind that always want to keep you safe and protected. It stems from our survival as a species. It also stems from childhood experiences where you learned certain behaviors that kept you protected and safe. But as we mature and want to grow emotionally and spiritually, those old beliefs and modes of behavior can hold us back from experiencing new, better ways of living. Parts Work is a form of hypnotherapy that allows us to speak directly to the parts of our subconscious that are in conflict and negotiate a deal that is beneficial to all parties, so all parts come together as a whole and work for your highest good.
What is Regression Work? How can it help me?
Regression work explores the subconscious mind for initial sensitizing events or relationships that impact you in a negative way and are stored as a self-limiting thought, belief or emotion. Regression work is a form of hypnotherapy that takes you to wherever the stored negatively charged thought or emotion is stuck, which is usually in childhood, but some times at birth or even from a previous life. The goal of regression is to access the old event or relationship, look at it from a different perspective, remove the negative charge or hold it has on you, reframe the beliefs or emotions associated with the event or person, and associate more positive and empowering thoughts and beliefs about yourself moving forward. This releases the hold the event or person has had on your life and you are free to make choices from your own personal power!
What is EFT? How can it help me?
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or Tapping is a simple yet effective acupressure technique that releases trapped emotional energy from the mind and body. Often referred to as ‘Acupuncture without the needles’, clients simply use their fingers to tap on the same energy meridian points on the head and upper body that acupuncturists use. Easy to learn and can be used anywhere, anytime, EFT is a very convenient emotional management tool to have handy.
